We’re Azzurra and José, the founders of PastaDI. 

What began as a dream soon became a mission: to establish Madeira’s first Italian pastificio dedicated exclusively to the craft of authentic artisanal Italian pasta.

Azzurra is from Sicily and José is from Madeira. We met in London, where we spent the first 15 years of our professional careers, gaining valuable experience across different cultures.

The idea for PastaDI grew from one of Azzurra’s long-held dreams. As for José – he has never been able to resist a good plate of pasta. It wasn’t long before we decided to roll up our sleeves and, quite literally, get our hands into the dough.

Today, we’re building more than a pastificio.

We are creating a brand with a purpose. Our vision is to combine the tradition of authentic artisanal Italian pasta with the gradual creation of meaningful employment opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Our pastificio, currently in the making in Funchal, is where this vision will begin to take shape.
